The merger of the polyurethane businesses of Japan's  Mitsui Chemicals (Tokyo) and South Korea's SKC (Seoul) reached a concrete phase on July 1 with the start-up of operations of Mitsui Chemicals & SKC Polyurethanes Inc. (MCNS) The combined entity targets revenue of S$2 billion and earnings before tax of $150 million, ranking it as one of the largest global players.

Systems houses, meanwhile, are located in Europe (Poland), the U.S. (Covington, GA), and throughout Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and four sites in China: Beijing; Foshan; Suzhou; and Tianjin).
